  • Anna is a qualified Specialist Teacher / Tutor and holds a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) for Key Stage 1 & 2 pupils (primary age).
  • Anna has lots of experience working with primary age children including those with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties, not least due to her own son's learning journey with dyslexia throughout his primary school years. Anna has worked with the charity Let's Read since 2022 providing 1:1 reading, spelling and literacy tuition to Year 2 primary age pupils and works for Surrey County Council as a Feet First Walking Instructor teaching Year 3 pupils.
  • Anna is a member of PATOSS (the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties) and has undertaken other relevant training such as Safeguarding and First Aid as part of her commitment to continuing professional development and teaching roles.
  • Prior to retraining Anna spent over 25 years in the corporate world of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) in London as a MRICS Chartered Surveyor which is a career she pursued after gaining her degree at the Nottingham Trent University in 1995. During this time, Anna worked in multiple leadership and teaching roles with young people in addition to her advisory work.

Interesting / fun facts

  • Anna has two primary age children and lives with her husband in Woking in Surrey.
  • Anna has always had a passion for travel and has visited over 40 countries trying out fun activities such as sand boarding, sky diving, bridge jumping, white water rafting, sailing, water skiing, skiing, hiking, and glacier climbing.
  • Anna loves South American music and salsa dancing, and learnt Spanish having spent many months living and travelling around Central and South America and Cuba.
  • Anna loves going to the theatre and adores musicals. Les Miserable, Lion King, Mama Mia and Joseph are her favourites.
  • Despite having lived most of her life in the south of England, she grew up on a farm in North Yorkshire and had many pet animals to look after including her horse, a shetland, two goats, three dogs, five cats, and 20 or so pet lambs most years.
