CV

  • Claire is fully qualified teacher (PGCE, QTS) with many years experience ranging from Reception to Year 8.
  • It was while teaching younger learners at a local school that Claire developed an interest in dyslexia. Claire realised that reading, writing and spelling skills, taught with the more traditional teaching methods, simply did not click into place for some children.
  • This realisation led to her training as a Specialist Teacher (Level 5) at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre so that she could support children with dyslexia and other literacy difficulties. As this area continued to fascinate her, Claire progressed to the Level 7 Specialist Assessor Qualification at Helen Arkell.
  • Claire believes that individual assessment and personalised specialist tuition not only support childrens' academic success, but more importantly, improves their self esteem.
