CV

  • Specialist Teacher Assessor holding a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) with the British Dyslexia Association. I have extensive experience of working within Primary, Secondary and Higher Education.
  • In addition to assessing for Helen Arkell, I am an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, co-teaching the Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia/SpLD AMBDA double module for qualified teachers and graduate TAs training to become specialist teacher assessors.
  • I also work as a Specialist Study Skills and Strategy Tutor (SpLD, ADHD, ASC) at the University of Oxford, providing individual support to neurodivergent students and helping them develop effective strategies for successful study.
  • Before joining Helen Arkell, I led the SpLD Study Skills department at The Unicorn School, Abingdon, providing specialist study support for pupils with dyslexia, DCD, Autism and ADHD, supporting them through GCSEs.
  • Prior to becoming a dyslexia/SpLD specialist, I taught German and French in a large state secondary school (Years 7-11).

Interesting / fun facts

  • I’ve lived in West Africa, South America and the USA – and learnt Spanish from scratch while living in Peru!
