  • Over ten years experience working as a Primary Class Teacher in various classes and schools teaching children in Years 3 – 6.
  • Employment as a one-to-one primary teacher to target children that require additional support in maths and literacy.
  • Personal experience of dyslexia through immediate family members that are dyslexic.
  • Interests in children’s literature and developing materials to develop enjoyment and engagement in reading so that every child can see themselves as a reader. Interests in creative writing and recognising and developing creativity as well as building learner self-esteem.
  • Use of multisensory methods to make learning accessible, memorable and fun with carefully selected targets to enable learner’s to experience success and grow in confidence.

Interesting / fun facts

  • I have written three drafts of a fantasy children's novel and am now on draft number four. This has taken many years!
  • I love nature and walking in the forest, spotting the secret lives of the animals and insects that live around us.
  • I can windsurf but not very well as I get scared of falling off my board!!!
